Carl Jonckheere born in Brussels in 1975, graduated from the Institute of Visual Arts de la Cambre in 2001 as well as in lithography at the Academy of Ixelles.
Oil is his domain. It is a painting of constant surprises with jubilations and rests. A Jonckheere painting speaks to the senses, because it is the improbable and generous encounter of layers of oils and color substrates which harmonize in their disparity.

What interests me is color, light and the dynamic articulation of forms.
The vibration of light comes from the subtle relationship between tones, the play of contrasts (hue - other shade - or its complement, material contrasts: dullness - shine) and the relationship between small and large elements.
